The Agile AI Advantage: Supporting Global Marine Operations with Modernized Logistics
CACI Case Study
The U.S. Marine Corps relies on fast, reliable, and innovative development to support the Global Combat Support System–Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), the core system of record for supply chain and maintenance management. After experiencing significant challenges with costly sustainment, frequent downtime, and slow delivery of new capabilities, the customer contracted CACI to deliver with more velocity at a lower cost. Through continuous improvement of the GCSS-MC platform, CACI has ensured mission readiness for over 20,000 marines across 75 locations.

Modernizing logistics to match mission speed
For years, outdated systems and fragmented logistics workflows have created friction across military supply chains. In critical operational settings, the Marine Corps experienced delays, duplicate orders, and poor visibility into logistics data. They required support to fix these problems — but modern military needs demand constant evolution. As the Marine Corps pursues digital modernization and integrated data systems, the GCSS-MC mission has expanded to include cloud migration, DevSecOps, and full-lifecycle sustainment of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
That’s where CACI comes in. With decades of ERP expertise, a deep bench of cleared technologists, and one of the largest Agile frameworks in the federal government, CACI was equipped to support the Marine Corps in achieving its modernization goals.

Faster delivery, stronger performance, lasting impact
CACI deployed its proven AiSF to sustain, enhance, and modernize GCSS-MC . The AiSF model allows geographically dispersed teams to collaborate seamlessly across time zones and disciplines.

With CACI’s support, the Marine Corps’ supply chain and logistics system is not only stable and secure but continuously evolving to meet future mission demands. CACI’s work on GCSS-MC has led to major improvements across operational performance, user experience, and long-term system agility. Operational availability rose from 85% to 98%, marking a 13-point increase. Over the past four years, delivery velocity improved by 145%, quality increased to 99.6% and change request delivery velocity grew by 300% — all while averaging over 240 releases annually.
“From password automation to the deployment of advanced robotic process automation (RPA) bots, CACI ensures rapid delivery without compromising security, compliance, or user satisfaction,” said CACI Vice President of Advanced Supply Chain Solutions J. Blair Parsons III.

Driving GCSS-MC toward digital-first readiness
As GCSS-MC continues to evolve in support of a digital-first logistics environment, CACI stands ready to extend its mission.
“Our deep expertise will continue to ensure that GCSS-MC remains a modern, secure, and high-performing system that meets the needs of the warfighter,” said Parsons.
