CACI Gives Thanks: Thanksgiving Day 2014

We owe our modern nationwide Thanksgiving to writer Sarah Josepha Hale. She advocated for a national holiday to five presidents for 17 years before Abraham Lincoln agreed to her petition in 1863 as a means to unify the country during the stress of the Civil War.

For the past 150 years, Thanksgiving has continued to connect Americans of divergent backgrounds - whether in times of war or peace, or recession or economic boom. It is a day we step back from our busy lives to give thanks for the many gifts we often take for granted and to focus on what is truly important in the presence of friends and family.

CACI is thankful for the dedication and good character of its workforce, the privilege to continue to serve America's most critical missions, and the loyalty and commitment of America's military men and women - whose sacrifices enable much of what we are thankful for in our lives. Let us remember that many of them are giving up an opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with loved ones in order to fulfill their duty all around the world.

Additionally, on this day of giving, we thank our CACI employees for their dedicated and consistent volunteerism to benefit our communities, veterans, and America's future.

CACI wishes all a joyous and restful holiday.
