Ronald Harris, a machinist mate in the U.S. Navy, served on several tours in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean during his 14+ years in the service. This included combat in the Gulf War of 1991, providing support for ground troops in Kuwait.
He says of his time in the Navy, "It helped me find out what I was made out of. A lot of the characteristics that I have now I can attribute to being in the military ...like my work ethic and not accepting anything less than my best."
After leaving the Navy because of a medical condition, Ronald connected with a CACI recruiter during a military job fair and joined the company in 2007 as an Engineer with the Mission Systems Group's Reliability Center maintenance training team.
Of his move to CACI Ronald comments, "It was a good transition period for me to grow - career-wise and as a person. At CACI, managers expect you to do your best on any type of project or process, so I can carry over much of what learned from the military to my work here. Old habits are hard to break. In fact, some colleagues tease me on how early I get to work ...6:30 is just what I'm used to!"
About his Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) client, Ronald says it all involves helping sailors improve their work processes. "Now we can help sailors do their work more efficiently, and smarter. It's a great way to help the military."
