Cheley Gabriel is a Functional Analyst with CACI's Mission Systems Group Biometrics Fusion Center in Clarksburg, WV. Major Gabriel enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1987 and joined the West Virginia National Guard in 1989, where she still serves.
Her Army career has taken Cheley from West Virginia to Fort Polk, LA where she was deployed in support of Operation Noble Eagle, taking a company of military police to backfill an active duty unit that went overseas.
When asked about her feelings and impressions of being in the service she replied, "Being in the service made my career. I was transformed from a high school kid who thought that military service was for losers who had no real ambition into someone thankful for every school - college and military - and benefit that the U.S. Army has provided me over the years."
Cheley is currently working on a PhD in Organizational Leadership with CACI's help, and has experience with the FBI and expertise in biometrics. She points out, "My hiring manager liked the fact that my military experience would easily fit into a DoD organization and CACI's culture."
Cheley sings CACI's praises everyday. "I love the way I have been treated. CACI's and the Army's values are very much the same," she says. "Loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personal courage - it made it easier for me to simultaneously belong to two organizations that follow the same values."
