George Alexander, a West Point graduate with a 22-year career under his belt, did a 12-month stint in Vietnam in the field artillery, commanding a 105mm howitzer battery.

"For a field artillery man, you want to be with the guns," he says. "I considered myself lucky to stay with a battery the whole time. We were in daily contact with the enemy. The fire base was surrounded by enemy, and they were constantly attacking us ...mostly at night. It kept life interesting."

George, a Lieutenant Colonel when he left the service, joined CACI with the Information Systems Support, Inc. (ISS) acquisition and is now a Director in the consulting division of the Technology Solutions Integration Group. He works from his home in Wisconsin, but he attended the recent All Officers Conference in Virginia. His comments: "I was at the AOC, and Jack London and Paul Cofoni continued to emphasize the CACI culture - first priority being integrity and honesty. As Jack pointed out, a lot of us come from that environment. At West Point, for example, those principles were inculcated in us as the premier priorities. And so, CACI is a comfortable place for a lot of us to work, because nobody is asking us to do anything under the table. And that just makes life a lot more comfortable for all of us.

"You know, you can make a mistake at CACI, as long as it's not a mistake of integrity or honesty. If you just own up to it ...nobody's going to shoot you. As long as you're telling the truth, that's the most important thing. That value at CACI - to me is just huge.

"The CACI culture marries up so closely to what was instilled with us in the military. And this whole idea of trying to bring in people with injuries from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars - I think that's fantastic! That's just what we should be doing."
