CACI Supports Everybody Wins!As one of our ongoing, legacy educational efforts, CACI has for over eight years partnered with Everybody Wins! Everybody Wins! is a literacy and mentoring program in the Washington, DC metro area. On a weekly basis, CACI volunteers visit Francis Scott Key Elementary School in Arlington, VA, to take their assigned students on journeys through history, fantasy, fact and fiction - all without leaving the class room. With a philosophy of one mentor, one child, one book at a time, the program pairs elementary school children with reading mentors recruited from public and private organizations like CACI. Volunteers visit nearby elementary schools every week to meet with students, eat lunch and read together. Reading is promoted as a pleasure - a fun way to spend time. Caring adult role models help build confidence and self-esteem. Today, companies like CACI are helping bridge the literacy gap for more than 9000 public school students across the country. Both schoolchildren and CACI volunteers agree that Everybody Wins! brings out the best in both: children see their reading scores improve and employees know that they have helped a child realize his or her potential. The program helps schoolchildren discover the joy of reading, increase reading related skills and benefit from consistent, positive interaction with a caring adult. Volunteers experience the rewards of helping children succeed as they develop this crucial skill. For organizations like CACI, Everybody Wins! provides a well managed, fulfilling volunteer opportunity for employees. Everybody Wins! makes it easy to participate by coordinating all logistics and providing training, supplies, supervision and support. Through the program CACI bolsters its employees' morale, builds teamwork skills and invests in the future workforce. Through Everybody Wins! teachers add a proven resource to their own efforts as volunteers provide individualized attention to the students who most need it. The final result is improved test scores, enhanced reading interests and better behavior. You can learn more about Everybody Wins! by visiting their website at Everybody Wins! or by contacting
