CACI Supports Inaugural TAPS Gala

CACI Project Philanthropy is proud to announce its support of TAPS, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors which provides support for the families of American warfighters who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard our nation. TAPS helps survivors hope and heal in the aftermath of their devastating loss.

CACI's assistance includes our support of the program's first fundraising event, the TAPS Honor Guard Gala, held on April 15, 2008 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC.

In attendance at the gala were Transformation Solutions Group SVP and Division Group Manager Mike Louden, Staff VP Jim Ferguson and Senior Staff Director Mike Squier and their guests.

Bonnie Carroll, executive director and founder of TAPS noted, "CACI has been an outstanding and strong supporter of TAPS for years. CACI's generous help assures the continuance of our programs and communications with TAPS families. We greatly appreciate the legacy of this relationship and the unwavering assistance we receive from CACI. Our organization and families are grateful for CACI's commitment to TAPS."

Founded in 1994, all volunteer TAPS is the only national organization dedicated to providing emotional support to the family and friends of all military personnel who have died while serving their country. The nonprofit group helps survivors cope and heal through a variety of programs, including a national peer support network, its annual National Military Survivor Seminar, Good Grief Camp for Young Survivors, crisis intervention care, as well as grief and trauma resources. A toll-free hotline - 800-959-TAPS - is available 24/7 for TAPS families and friends.

Funds raised at the gala will directly support the TAPS mission. A Veteran Service Organization, TAPS has provided help to over 10,000 survivor families since its inception. The Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs provide all survivor armed forces families with information about TAPS and its military survivor programs.

Also attending the event were dignitaries such as keynote speaker Adm. Michael G. Mullen, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff; 2008 TAPS Honor Guard Award recipient actor Ben Stein; and U.S. Senator Kit Bond (R-MO), who received the TAPS 2008 Honor Guard Congressional Award. CNN's Kyra Phillips moderated the event.
