The PRACTISS tool is CACI MTL's desktop (PC) image conversion application. It provides a rapid, cost effective means to simulate how visual spectrum imagery appears when viewed by non-visual sensors, such as infrared, radar or night vision devices (NVDs)
 

PRACTISS enables users to simply select a visual image and a desired sensor, and then quickly view the image as it would appear from the selected sensor. It is ideal for training image analysts and aircrews and for realistic mission rehearsal simulations.

PRACTISS uses CACI MTL developed macros (instruction files representing the image distortion "personality" of a sensor) to configure special effects commands in a COTS PC graphics package.

PRACTISS runs on a PC or laptop and executes almost instantly (2 sec. response for a 312 x 256 pixel image on a 500 Mhz Pentium II system).
