Until recently, defense and intelligence organizations struggled with manual processes and a lack of qualified linguists to translate documents of unknown content – reducing efficiency and increasing the risk of missing key data. CACI combines IT expertise and industry IQ to provide an automated solution that improves processes and drastically speeds analysis in an austere field environment.
The DOMEX Advantage
Document and Media Exploitation (DOMEX) uses advanced technology to improve the ability to organize, translate and analyze captured information in virtually all formats and many languages. When information is quickly processed it becomes easier to find and use key data for intelligence, law enforcement and homeland defense. This means valuable resources are spent only on those documents that contain crucial clues or information.
For more than 45 years CACI has delivered public sector solutions that streamline and automate business through smart investments that reduce costs and risk. CACI delivers program specific solutions while enabling enterprise-level collaboration and integration.
Advanced Technology, Adaptable Workflow
Built on HighView®, our robust commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) document and workflow management technology, DOMEX combines document capture, optical character recognition (OCR), machine translation and indexing techniques with flexible workflow capability.
Documents are routed automatically through screening, OCR and machine translation to the document repository where the images and data are automatically indexed and immediately available. The system provides the essence of the document content to allow quick prioritization. DOMEX is portable and flexible and can be used on platforms ranging from a single laptop to thousands of connected desktop PCs.
In defense environments there are time constraints, lack of communication means and other circumstances that require that operators refine as much information as possible at the site of seizure. At the same time headquarters analysts need access to the data for vetting, further refinement and strategic exploitation. DOMEX is used by a number of defense and intelligence agencies to
- Scan, import, prioritize, translate, index and refine data seized in remote locations
- Provide field personnel with the means to immediately assess and analyze exploitation results
- Share information across the community to speed action based on obtained information

Delivering Results
DOMEX does not replace linguists and translators. Instead, it enables organizations to focus their limited linguistic resources on documents that have the highest probability of containing value. DOMEX offers the best means for closing the gap between enormous influxes of diverse document-based intelligence and the limited pool of linguists available to interpret the information.
