CACI's knowledge management solutions are based upon advanced technology tools combined with innovative approaches and practices. CACI's HighVIEW® software and eXploitation Forward (XF) mobile application are the two examples of our leading knowledge management technologies. HighVIEW and eXploitation Forward (XF) greatly increase our clients' abilities to tackle big data problems and facilitate awareness, management, and dissemination of information in support of an effective KM solution.
HighVIEW is our commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software platform for data, workflow, and knowledge management. Currently in its fifth generation, HighVIEW provides the building blocks for diverse, highly scalable systems. HighVIEW solutions have been deployed to support business needs such as criminal and case management, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) compliance, document and media exploitation (DOMEX), document declassification, and human resources management/recruiting. DOMEX and case management systems account for hundreds of HighVIEW deployments worldwide and range in size from standalone laptop computer installations to multi-node clustered environments serving geographically distributed user communities. HighVIEW 5 capabilities
HighVIEW's powerful capabilities include:
- Object and relationship modeling, which allows HighVIEW to represent and act on real-world business objects and relationships that exist in a customer's problem space. HighVIEW solutions provide the benefits of fully custom solutions without the cost
- Data capture of any content, including paper documents and electronic files in hundreds of formats (audio, video, or anything that can be represented electronically)
- Data and content management, including check-in and check-out, version history, and rollback
- Workflow for modeling custom business processes consisting of manual and/or automated activities. HighVIEW Workflow can be used to add structure to existing business process and to automate complex tasks
- Search and retrieval for locating information in the HighVIEW repository using a configurable, out-of-the box, web-based interface
- Image redaction and annotation, exposed through a graphical user interface (GUI) and accessible as part of the out-of-the-box HighVIEW web interface or as a standalone tool that can easily fit into existing operations
- Security functions that control access to data at the lowest possible level – the database. Regardless of the access point, HighVIEW enforces the same access control policies
- Packaged integrations with leading third-party technologies for optical character recognition (OCR), machine translation, and named entity extraction to transform raw information assets into valuable knowledge
The HighVIEW SDK is a set of Microsoft .NET APIs for use in developing custom HighVIEW-based applications. The SDK is the most flexible and powerful mechanism for creating HighVIEW applications. Our professional services teams have years of experience developing HighVIEW-based solutions and work closely with the HighVIEW development group to influence the product's direction in line with real customer needs.
Every HighVIEW system leverages Oracle Database for storage to provide high performance and security. HighVIEW currently operates with all editions of Oracle 10g and 11g.
The HighVIEW Workbench is a highly customizable and configurable web-based interface that exposes HighVIEW capabilities such as search, content import, basic scanning, data creation and editing, data and content export, workflow task management, e-mail search agents, and saved data collections. The HighVIEW Workbench can be branded and tailored for specific solutions using XML and CSS. More complex forms of customization using ASP.NET are also common. The HighVIEW Workbench provides a relatively quick way for getting up and running with HighVIEW.
The HighVIEW Desktop is a Windows desktop application with pluggable, configurable modules for electronic file import, high-volume scanning, and workflow process design. The HighVIEW Desktop can be configured with specific modules and configurations to suit the unique needs of each user community. Custom modules can also be developed that integrate seamlessly into the Desktop to provide a common user environment.

eXploitation Forward (XF) Collection and Content Management
CACI's eXploitation Forward (XF) provides robust capabilities that leverage best-of-breed technologies on a single handheld device interface. Users can collect, search, triage, track, transform, view, and disseminate data for immediate exploitation and feedback. It is fully operational in a networked or standalone environment (no signal or network connection is required).
XF collects and captures virtually any type of data content from paper documents, audio/video files, biometrics, computer data, cell phone data, and site scene exploitation efforts. All data is collected via a single handheld device and application interface, and is scalable to multiple handheld devices in support of a single operation. Combined with CACI's Extract software, this data can be transformed and stored while preventing malicious code transfer from the source content.
XF disseminates and tracks captured data within a structured chain of custody process in a secure operating environment. All data collected is tagged with GPS, date/time, unique ID barcode/RFID, and other metadata. XF uses FIPS 140-2 certified encryption with NSA Suite B algorithms to secure all data at rest (collected on the device) and in transmission during the dissemination process. This also supports the use of secure viewing and editing tools that enable the user to manipulate, triage, and access data in the field.
XF can tightly integrate with CACI's HighVIEW® commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) content management and workflow platform. This integration provides additional features such as key frame extraction, phonetic indexing, entity extraction, geospatial search, foreign language search, machine translation, and Optical Character Recognition of captured content.
eXploitation Forward (XF) Law Enforcement (LE) Collection and Content Management
Much like CACI's original eXploitation Forward (XF) capability tailored for the Department of Defense, XF-LE provides the same robust functionality that leverage best-of-breed technologies on a single handheld device interface tailored for the LE community. An officer can collect, search, triage, track, view, and disseminate any type of crime scene data for immediate exploitation, analysis, and feedback from other officers and agencies.
XF-LE collects and captures virtually any type of crime scene data to include paper documents, audio/video files, biometrics, computer data, and cell phone data. XF-LE also provides the additional on-site crime scene functionality of latent fingerprint collection and date/time/location-stamped photography. All crime scene data is collected via a single handheld device and application interface but is scalable to multiple handheld devices in support of a group operation. Date/time/location-stamped crime scene photography and collected data can be visually displayed on an overhead photo or map for additional crime scene analysis capabilities. Using biometric technologies on the same handheld device assists officers in rapid and accurate suspect identification.
XF-LE also disseminates and tracks collected evidence data with a structured chain of custody process within a secure network operating environment. Information collected can be automatically assigned to a case and transferred to that electronic case file remotely from the handheld device. Combined with CACI's Extract software, XF-LE crime data can be transformed, stored, and disseminated while preventing malicious code and virus transfer from the source content. Evidence collection and property management is made more accurate and functional by using state-of-the-art evidence RFID labeling and tracking, thus reducing the chance of evidence inventory and management mistakes. XF-LE can be used in conjunction with CACI's Case Management tool or can easily be adapted to existing organizational systems and networks.
