How to Access CACInet From Client Sites
To support CACI's business objectives, corporate culture and growth goals it's essential that all employees have access to CACInet - our single most valuable resource for company news and information. At the same time we understand that, owing to security restrictions, employees working at client sites may not be able to access CACI's private network, making it hard to connect with CACInet. The good news is that there are ways to solve this problem.
A direct connection to CACI's private network is not required to access CACInet - it can be reached directly over the Internet. Our Corporate Information Systems (CIS) team can provide special hardware and software that allows secure access to CACInet without infringing upon client restrictions. There are three things you will need for this access
- A computer with access to the Internet
- A CIS provided token, which is a small device that supplies a dynamic and secure password to log on to CACInet
- A CACI network account
The token and network account allow you to authenticate against CACI's Intranet Portal site that allows secure access to certain internal information resources without establishing a connection to the CACI network. No client software is required.
If you are working on a client site and need CACInet access please ask your manager to fill out and approve Form 240 and forward it to the Technical Assistance Center at cistac@caci.com. CIS will provide you with a network account and token along with instructions for use.

CACI Remote Access Solutions
True to its name, CACI International Inc has people and offices located worldwide. Some employees, whether due to geographic locations or security issues, are in offsite locations without a direct connection to important resources inside CACI's private network. But there are a number of options available to help.
CACI Lotus Notes
What is it? - Lotus Notes is the enterprise-wide messaging and collaboration application used by CACI. To access from a PC outside of CACI's private network you need the CACI Lotus Notes client software installed and configured on your PC and Internet access.
What can I access with it? - The entire suite of collaborative tools are available through CACI Lotus Notes, including
- messaging
- calendaring
- application and database capabilities
What do I need in order to use it? - A computer with an Internet connection and the CACI Lotus Notes client software installed and configured on the computer.
Configure your Lotus Notes Client for remote access by clicking on the Lotus Notes Direct Over the Internet button located in your mail file in the CIS Instructions section. Then simply open the Lotus Notes client software on the remote PC as you would at your CACI office and begin working.
From where can I access this? - Any Internet-connected computer.
CACI WebMail
What is it? - Using the Internet and a web browser CACI WebMail is a way to securely access your Lotus Notes email. The address is https://WebMail.caci.com and requires no client software installation.
What can I access with it? - Your server-based, CACI Lotus Notes email is all that is accessible. If you need access to other Lotus Notes databases consider using the Lotus Notes client software on your PC or CACI VPN.
What do I need in order to use it? - You'll need
- a Lotus Notes account
- to set an internet password in your person document in the CACI Address Book database in Lotus Notes
- the Internet Explorer web browser
From where can I access this? - Any computer on an Internet connected network that allows Secure Socket Layer (SSL). If you can access WebET from your location WebMail access should be fine.
More options will be presented next week. If you have any questions about any of the above alternatives, including obtaining, installing or use, contact the Technical Assistance Center at 703-679-3200 or cistac@caci.com.
CACI Intranet Portal
What is it? - The Intranet Portal allows you to securely access a group of resources inside the CACI network through a web browser. The address is https://portal.caci.com and no client software installation is required.
What can I access with it? - CACI's intranet website (CACInet), the Business Information Gateway (BIG), websites or web-based applications on CACI's private network and files on Windows network shares. Some applications such as Lotus Notes can be accessed provided the client software is installed and configured for use through the portal.
What do I need in order to use it? - You'll need a CACI network account and a SecurID token (Form240).
From where can I access this? - Any computer on an Internet connected network that allows SSL. If you can access WebET from your location Intranet Portal access should be fine.
CACI Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
What is it? - VPN allows you to securely access any resource inside the CACI network from a remote computer that has the VPN client software installed on it. VPN is a good option if you're working over a high speed Internet connection and need access to a wide range of resources.
What can I access with it? - Everything you have access to at your CACI office is available remotely when you are working through a VPN connection, providing the correct client software is installed on the remote computer.
What do I need in order to use it? - You'll need a CACI network account, a SecurID token (Form240) and the VPN client software. If you plan on using client/server applications such as Lotus Notes you'll also need the client software for those applications installed.
From where can I access this?
Any computer on an Internet connected network that will support VPN traffic.
iPass
What is it? - iPass is an easy to use Internet dial application, supplied by CACI, to connect to the Internet simply and securely from almost anywhere in the world. There are usage charges for iPass which are directed back to your CACI department.
What can I access with it? - The iPass software only provides Internet connectivity. Therefore, you must still use WebMail, the Intranet Portal or VPN to access resources inside CACI's private network.
What do I need in order to use it? - You'll need a CACI network account and the iPass client software installed on your computer.
From where can I access this? - Any of these three possibilities
- Anywhere you can get a phone line
- Any hotel room listed in the iPass phonebook under wired broadband
- Any wireless LAN (WiFi) hotspot listed in the iPass phonebook under wireless broadband, provided you have a working wireless LAN network card
The iPass phonebook is located at www.ipass.com and also in the iPass software client itself.
