On January 22, 2004 CACI International Inc sponsored a special evening marking the close of an exhibit commemorating Vietnam-era prisoners of war. Called "Open Doors: Vietnam POWs Thirty Years Later," the showing profiles some of the Vietnam War's longest held POWs, who overcame extraordinary hardship to successfully re-enter American society. CACI served as underwriter for a closing dinner and panel discussion, held at Washington, DC's prestigious Decatur House, and CACI Chairman, President and CEO Dr. J.P. (Jack) London gave the opening remarks.

"We're very proud to help honor and remember America's former POWs," Dr. London said. "Much of our business is in support of our nation's military, so we are keenly aware of what it means to serve. Many of our employees are themselves veterans, who bring a unique dedication and commitment to their clients. And all of us at CACI place the highest value on serving our country vigilantly in everything we do."

CACI clients include all the Armed Services and many members of the Department of Defense, as well as the national and military intelligence communities. CACI's information technology solutions are focused on delivering capabilities to meet America's ongoing requirements for defense and national security.

The evening included a panel composed of former POWs, their wives, and experts in the field. The moderator was Joe Galloway, co-author of We Were Soldiers Once … and Young, a history of the Ia Drang campaign, the first major clash between American and North Vietnamese regular troops. Mr. Galloway also joined Dr. London and his management team at the CACI table.

More than 120 guests attended, including the Secretary of Veteran Affairs, Anthony J. Principi. CACI supports the Department of Veterans Affairs with information technology solutions for veterans' healthcare initiatives. Billionaire philanthropist H. Ross Perot, a strong supporter of POWs, also attended and spoke briefly.

Dr. London thanked the exhibit's creators: "This is a milestone event in America's remembrance of our POWs. Photographer Jamie Howren Quinn and writer Taylor Baldwin Kiland did a superb job of showing the fierce determination these veterans displayed, not just in their military careers, but also in the successful lives they made on their return home. CACI is privileged to be associated with this outstanding exhibit and the veterans it celebrates."

The Open Doors exhibit ran at the Decatur House in Washington DC through January 25, and is currently touring the country.
