National Military Appreciation Month - May 2007

On April 30, 1999 the United States Senate passed a resolution that designated May as National Military Appreciation Month. It called on the people of the U.S., in a symbolic act of unity, to observe May as a special month to honor the current and former members of the nation's armed forces, including those who have died in the pursuit of freedom and peace. A concurrent resolution, later agreed to by both the House of Representatives and the Senate, established May, in perpetuity, as this special time of the year.

CACI is proud to recognize the unique significance of these 31 days of May to mark what our soldiers mean to America… just as we have done every day, of every month, over the course of our company's 45-year history. After all, what would this country be without the brave men and women who defend its freedom, protect its values and ensure its very existence? Would there even be a United States of America?

Since America was forged in the fires of revolution, those who serve in our armed forces have made a difference. In the trenches of World War I and through the titanic battles on land, sea, and air during World War II. In the frozen wastelands of Korea and the steaming jungles of Viet Nam. In the barren mountains of Afghanistan and the danger-filled landscapes of Iraq. In all these places we know, and in some we may never know, this nation's warfighters have put their lives on the line so that we may enjoy the freedoms that we may sometimes take for granted.

So let all of us at CACI say a heartfelt, "Thank you!" Let us express our appreciation to all those who have gone before and to the members of this new "Greatest Generation" who in so many ways, through their courage, dedication and commitment, teach us what it means to be Americans.
