Jack London Recognized by Arlington County, VirginiaCACI Chairman, President and CEO Honored for Personal Contributions and Technology Leadership
Part of one of the most vital and innovative "technology corridors" on the East Coast, Arlington County, VA is home to premier research firms and organizations, key federal agencies and leading technology companies such as CACI. So it was a special treat, on April 24th, for County Chairman Paul Ferguson to take time to recognize an Arlington resident whose contributions have done much to strengthen the county's technology assets - CACI Chairman, President and CEO Dr. J.P. (Jack) London. In a brief ceremony at the Arlington County Courthouse, Dr. London was thanked for his personal contributions to the county and his leadership of CACI. Special appreciation was given for CACI's assistance in planning for Arlington's new National Defense Science and Technology Collaboration Center. Attending the presentation with Dr. London was CACI's Chief Technology Officer Deb Dunie, who is spearheading CACI's support for the new technology center. The new center will be located near CACI's headquarters in Arlington's Ballston neighborhood. According to Ms. Dunie:
CACI has been headquartered in Arlington since 1972 and has contributed significantly to the county's growth and technology expertise. In 2004 Dr. London was named Arlington's Technology Executive of the Year. Nearly 900 of CACI's 10,000 employees work in the county, and Dr. London and close members of his family are residents. "I accept this recognition on behalf of all our employees, who make CACI's technology leadership possible," said Dr. London, "and I personally thank Deb for directing our support for the planning of the National Defense Science and Technology Collaboration Center. We believe the new center will be a core location for discussion, debate and the exchange of information on vital issues in science and technology, especially as they relate to strengthening our nation for the challenges ahead." Dr. London continued: "I am extremely proud to be an Arlington County resident. This is an exciting and wonderful place to live. And I am pleased that CACI has been able to play a role in the county's development as one of America's foremost locations for innovative technology resources and businesses." |
