CACI Celebrates Marine Corps Birthday
Today, CACI honors the 236th anniversary of the founding of the United States Marine Corps, the nation's premier expeditionary force. In addition to employing many former Marines, CACI has provided services and solutions in support of a variety of Marine Corps missions.
According to CACI President and CEO Paul Cofoni, "Supporting U.S. warriors and their families has always been a priority for us at CACI, and we are proud to continue building our relationship with the U.S. Marine Corps. Today, in celebration of the 236th birthday of the Marines, we honor the important role these brave men and women have played in our nation's defense for more than 200 years."
The Marine Corps originated on November 10, 1775 as the Continental Marines of the American Revolutionary War. A committee of the Second Continental Congress approved a resolution to form two battalions able to fight for independence at sea and on shore under the leadership of Commandant Samuel Nicholas. Semper Fidelis, Latin for "always faithful," became the Marine Corps motto in 1883. It guides Marines to remain faithful to their mission, each other, and their country. Because they are always ready to respond quickly on the ground, in the air, and by sea, the Marines have developed a reputation as "America's 911 Force" - our nation's first line of defense.
