A Look Back in Time: The CACI Story Celebrating Our 50th Year: Innovative Solutions for a Great Nation

Past. Present. Forward. With these words, CACI launches our year-long celebration of 50 years helping our clients meet their greatest challenges.

Past ...

Nearly 50 years ago this month, two extraordinary entrepreneurs took a promising business opportunity and turned it into a successful venture in the emerging computer industry. Herb Karr and Harry Markowitz, one a practical visionary and the other a programming genius, went from doing business on a park bench as California Analysis Center, Inc. (CACI) to creating a company that would grow into a $3.5 billion global enterprise of dedicated professionals delivering the services and solutions our government needs to meet America's greatest challenges.

In the decades that followed CACI's creation in 1962, we learned to watch the trend lines and identify the most promising technologies and markets. Over the past 50 years, we have been at the forefront of computer and information technology, network services, enterprise-wide solutions, intelligence support, and numerous trends and emerging needs

Present ...

Today, CACI's growing team of more than 13,700 dedicated employees worldwide supports America's most vital missions by supplying in-demand services and solutions for defense, intelligence, homeland security, and IT modernization and government transformation.

We take great pride in CACI's record of success and the talented employees who made it happen. Consider some of our most recent achievements:

  • We provide portable communications equipment to assist during natural disasters, recently even delivering communications and radiation-sensing equipment to victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
  • We operate and maintain networks of sensors that can detect improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
  • We develop knowledge management systems for analyzing captured documents and media in 160 languages to assist in intelligence tagging and translation.
  • We are deploying the first secure "smart phone" biometrics application that troops at checkpoints can use to identify known adversaries.

Forward ...

As we enter our 50th year in business, our corporate culture provides an enduring foundation that continues to inspire us to provide the very best service to our customers. A strong commitment to CACI people and principles remains our focus as we move forward, and it will continue to guide us through many more years of success for our clients, our shareholders, and the dedicated men and women who make our vision a reality.

Building on the past. Creating the present. Confident in the future.
