CACI's Lt. Gen. Michael Basla, USAF (Ret) has been honored by Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International with the 2018 AFCEA Chair's Superior Performance Award. Honorees of this award, selected by the Chair of AFCEA International Board, set the example for others as dedicated volunteers who are active at all levels of the association, and have shown sustained leadership over more than 10 years.

Mr. Basla is a longtime AFCEA member and serves on the organization's Executive and Cyber Committees. At CACI, Mr. Basla serves as a Business Development Senior VP and Air Force Client Executive. In this role, he has a central role in pursuing strategic and large-scale Air Force business opportunities that help expand CACI's support for our customers' most complex, enduring mission requirements.

He concluded his military career in November of 2014 as the Chief, Information Dominance and Chief Information Officer, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

The AFCEA International Awards honors the extraordinary contributions of individuals in the communications, electronics, intelligence and information technology disciplines. Mr. Basla will be honored during an awards event on May 14 prior to the Defensive Cyber Operation Symposium May 15-17 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
