The Passing of CACI Board Director Richard L. Leatherwood
CACI Board Director
Richard L. Leatherwood
1939 - 2017
It is with great sadness that we report that CACI Board Director Richard L. Leatherwood has passed away. He was an outstanding industry leader whose keen guidance and advice contributed significantly to our company’s growth during his tenure with us from 1996 to 2012.
Richard provided CACI with important leadership at a time when our company was repositioning our solutions and services for the growing networked world. In addition, as we anticipated our government’s increasing need for intelligence capabilities, his contributions helped guide us to grow and acquire the solutions our customers needed for national security.
In addition to CACI’s Board, Richard served on the boards of Maryville College, CSX Transportation, Maryland National Bank, The Baltimore Opera, The University of Tennessee College of Business Advisory Board, and Dominion Resources. He also chaired the boards of the Baltimore City Life Museum and the B&O Railroad Museum, for which he was Chairman Emeritus.
Richard’s business career included serving as Director of Dominion Resources, Inc.; Dominion Energy, Inc., MNC Financial, Inc., CSX Corporation, and Virginia Electric and Power Company, Inc. He was also a Vietnam veteran who served as an officer in the U.S. Army.
I personally was privileged to learn from Richard’s many years of leadership experience, and was proud to call him my friend. In his memory, CACI will also be making a donation to the Richard L. Leatherwood Scholarship Fund at Maryville College, Maryville, TN. Please join me in expressing our condolences to his family and honoring this outstanding business and community leader.
Dr. J.P. London Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board CACI International Inc
