CACI's Dr. Lani Kass Honored for Innovation in Cyber Security in Air Force Association's "Breaking Barriers" Campaign
CACI announced today that Dr. Lani Kass, Senior Vice President and Corporate Strategic Advisor, is being honored by the Air Force Association (AFA) as part of the organization's #70for70 campaign in celebration of the United States Air Force's (USAF) 70th birthday. Over the course of 2017, AFA will highlight 70 diverse heroes who have broken barriers through innovation, teamwork, and heritage.
Dr. Kass's recognition highlights her breakthrough role in advancing innovation in cyber security. As Special Assistant to the USAF Chief of Staff and Director of the Cyber Task Force, Dr. Kass developed the concepts that led to the establishment of the U.S. Cyber Command and continue to underpin U.S. cyber strategy. She was the first woman appointed as Professor of Military Strategy and Operations at the National War College, National Defense University, and is a member of the Air University Board of Visitors' Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Subcommittee.
At CACI, Dr. Kass leads initiatives to advance the company's role in national security. She supports the development of CACI's corporate strategy, as well as the development and expansion of key customer relationships. She also is a strategic advisor and speaker at the annual Asymmetric Threat symposia the company has co-sponsored since 2008.
CACI has served the USAF's missions for over 45 years with solutions that include Cyber Security support to safeguard systems and information. In addition, the company's Intelligence Services, Intelligence Systems and Support, and Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities deliver needed data to Air Force decision-makers; its Command and Control and Communications capabilities provide those decision-makers with the tools to conduct highly coordinated operations; and its Logistics and Material Readiness capabilities help keep aircraft flying across joint missions of all kinds.
CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury said, "Dr. Kass has made significant accomplishments in advancing innovative and critically important cyber strategies for our nation. Her steadfast commitment to national service embodies CACI's culture of ethics and integrity, and her invaluable guidance has helped drive our strategy and operational excellence in supporting our Air Force customers."
Dr. Kass said, "I'm humbled to be in the company of so many heroes, pioneers, innovators, and barrier breakers. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve with the exceptional men and women of America's Air Force, as this elite fighting force – the world's most technologically innovative and sophisticated – continues to accomplish its mission 'to fly, fight, and win in air, space, and cyberspace.' Proud to be an American Airman!"
Dr. Kass will be recognized along with the other #70for70 honorees at the Air, Space & Cyber Conference on September 18, 2017.
