CACI Marks 67th Birthday of the U.S. Air Force
In January 2013, the U.S. Air Force (USAF) updated its vision statement to "World's Greatest Air Force - Powered by Airmen, Fueled by Innovation." A document was soon released, expanding on that new vision and explaining further how the service provides "Global Vigilance, Global Reach, and Global Power."
As we today commemorate the 67th anniversary of the USAF becoming an independent branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, we are reminded that its core missions have remained true to the original USAF mission while broadening and evolving with new innovations and cyber capabilities. Since those early years, for example, air superiority has become air and space superiority, and air reconnaissance has evolved into the broader realm of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities needed to defend our nation.
The history of air power in our military goes back even further than the Air Force becoming an independent military branch. The modern Air Force can trace its roots to the U.S. Army Signal Corps forming an Aeronautical Division on August 1, 1907, less than four years after the Wright brothers took flight.
CACI is proud to be a partner for over 45 years to the innovation that has fueled the world's greatest Air Force. Our support includes the Air Staff, direct reporting units, field operating agencies, major commands, and numbered Air Force organizations including subordinate elements.
CACI expresses its thanks today to all the dedicated airmen and airwomen who help us fly faster, farther, and higher than ever before in support of the ultimate mission of keeping America safe.
