CACI Awarded $9.3 Million Joint Modeling Analysis
and Simulations Contract
Arlington, Va., October 10, 1996 - CACI International Inc (Nasdaq:CACI)
has been awarded a $9.3 million contract to support the development of Joint Modeling
Analysis and Training Simulations (JMATS) for the Joint Command and Control Warfare Center
in San Antonio, Texas. CACI, which has already begun work on the five-year,
time-and-materials contract, will perform initial taskings in San Antonio, but expects to
provide JMATS support to major government training exercises across the U.S. and around
the world.
For JMATS, CACI will develop simulations for training purposes in the command, control,
and intelligence areas. Military training cannot always be provided "live"
because the availability of personnel, equipment, and terrain is increasingly limited, and
the cost has grown prohibitive. CACI modeling and simulation expertise will allow the
Joint Command and Control Warfare Center to train personnel under simulated warfare
conditions, saving time and money while enabling the accurate evaluation of new doctrines
and processes in command and control warfare. CACI's efforts under this contract will also
break new ground in modeling the impact of degraded command and control networks on the
overall military effectiveness of joint forces.
CACI was chosen as the JMATS contractor because of the company's 34-year legacy of
successful modeling and simulation products, languages, and projects, including CACI's
unique experience with network modeling through the JECEWSI (Joint Electronic
Combat/Electronic Warfare Simulation) program and the company's 13-year history of
successful, on-time, within-budget performance with the Joint Command and Control Warfare
Center and its predecessor agencies.
"CACI's simulation expertise will make it possible for the Joint Command and Control
Warfare Center to expand its global training efforts and focus on critical areas of
need," said CACI Chairman, President and CEO Dr. J.P. (Jack) London. "For CACI,
the JMATS win is an important element in our continuing emphasis on the government
modeling and simulation marketplace-a growing area even during this time of federal
financial constraint."
CACI is an information technology products and service provider that specializes in
developing and integrating systems, software, and simulation products in support of
government agencies and commercial enterprises worldwide. The company has approximately
3400 employees and operates out of approximately 65 offices in the U.S. and Europe.
